The 2023–2024 Annual Report marks four years of impact, innovation, and collective progress for The Enchanté Network — now representing over 700 member organizations and equity-seeking partners across Canada.

This year solidified The Enchanté Network’s position as the national leader advancing the rights, sustainability, and capacity of 2SLGBTQI+ organizations.

Key Highlights

  1. Historic National Convenings

    • Hosted Canada’s first National Black 2SLGBTQI+ Futures Summit, convening 500+ changemakers and allies.

    • Organized the National 2SLGBTQI+ Conference 2023: Combatting Hate, uniting over 300 organizations to advance inclusion and resilience.

  2. Landmark Policy Wins

    • Played a central role in revising Canada’s Employment Equity Act, ensuring 2SLGBTQI+ and Black people are recognized as protected groups for the first time.

    • Launched the Rainbow Resilience Fund, distributing $535,325.44 to 22 organizations addressing hate crimes and discrimination.

  3. Capacity Building and Leadership Development

    • Supported 700+ organizations through programs such as the Leadership Bootcamp, Financial Management Training, and the Mentorship Program (23 organizations, 7 pairings).

    • Delivered 68 national events focused on fundraising, governance, and anti-oppression.

  4. Advocacy and Research Leadership

    • Released national studies including the 2SLGBTQI+ Endowment Fund Feasibility Report and the Mapping Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Movement Project with the University of Saskatchewan.

    • Advanced intersectional advocacy through projects such as Back to Our Roots, Building Bridges, and Coalition Building.

  5. Organizational Growth

    • Expanded partnerships with Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE), Canadian Heritage, and new philanthropic funders.

    • Continued to implement the 2022–2025 Strategic Plan, focusing on sustainability, advocacy, and sector collaboration.

Executive Director Tyler Boyce and Interim Board Chair Cait Glasson emphasize that while the network celebrates major achievements, the fight against hate, discrimination, and inequity continues. Through unity and resilience, The Enchanté Network remains committed to a thriving, inclusive future for 2SLGBTQI+ communities nationwide.
